We still have snow on the ground in places, but the ticks are out. Please take precautions and check yourselves and your animals if you’ve been in places where ticks live. This includes grasses in areas with deer and other wildlife.
If you get a tick bite and can save the tick, reach out. We can help you decide if it is worth sending off to a lab for analysis.
Also, if you find you have a classic bull’s-eye rash, call us! Some form of an antibiotic or antibacterial agent needs to be started ASAP.
Bottom line: Do not let anyone tell you, “We don’t have Lyme in Montana.” This myth was dispelled years ago.
